About month 6, Knox measured a bit small for his expected size, and so the doctors felt like it was necessary to begin monitoring his activity, fluid levels, growth and heart rate. I've been going in for a Non-Stress Test twice a week, with an ultrasound once a week. So far, he's looking great! He is still measuring a little small (around 5 lbs. in weight- smaller than the average 6 lb. normal at 36 weeks)...but all in all should be just fine. I've learned a lot in the process- talking to the doctors and the nurses, and I can't complain about sitting in a recliner watching TV during the NST. :)
You may have seen my post of my friend Hannah Foley and her husband Jeremiah a while back- well, it was our turn this time! While I have shot several "maternity" sessions, I don't do them often, and I have to be honest...they're a bit of a challenge sometimes. Not every female is used to being rounder than normal, even with all the "pregnancy glow" talk- and I was no different. Yet, I knew I needed to have this time documented. In the midst of planning for the shoot, I also realized we didn't have any photos of us with our dogs- so of course, we added that to the mix. Let me tell you, pregnant photographer + a guy used to posing for band shoots + 2 unruly Scottie dogs = not an easy task! But Hannah did a great job- and guess what? She's expecting too!
Here are some of my favorites- all images copyright Hannah Katherine Photography...
Annnnd, here's a quick movie I made with more!
Help me out!
I'm planning on making an album with these images and a few words for Knox. Knowing myself, I haven't started a "baby book" and don't think I will- since it will most likely go unfinished! Instead, I'd rather create small clips of time for him in albums and journals. I'm wanting to include what life was like for us while we were waiting on him in this book.
Any suggestions? What would you include in a book to your future child?
I know I'd like to add some "current event" info- what would you consider to be an event of importance from April-Dec. of 2010??
I'd love to hear your ideas! Please comment below!
