a new year means so much
I've neglected posting over the holiday season, partially because I didn't want to get reflective. I have a tendency to get sentimental and sensationalize things. (Shawn knows!) But it's the year's end, and I have to have some closure...so I'll do my best to NOT get all mushy.
This year will mark my first year as a full-time, business-owning photographer. I never could have fully prepared myself for it, which is a fact I'm actually grateful for. I have been on so many adventures and experienced so many people and places I never would have been able to were it not for this new venture. I still sit at my desk some days and think, "What? I actually GET to DO this?"
With the year has come some refinement of purpose- in work and in my personal life. I read Ordering Your Private World and it was a bit of a kick in the butt. Hopefully the bruise will not go away too quickly- I need the daily reminder that I an NOT in charge.
Shawn and I celebrated our 3 year wedding anniversary last night and I can hardly believe it! We had a great time with all of the ARLT crew and the ChooseLife Church in Hobbs, NM. I am so blessed by my husband...he is incredible. (I love you!)
As of now I am doing my best to prepare for an awesome 2009- I've got 3 weddings coming up in January, and I know they will all be a blast!
To my clients, friends and family: Thank you so much for all of your love and support of my business and me personally. You show me everyday what the love of Christ looks like and I'm so blessed to know you!
A good quote from the book I'm currently reading:
"Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up." -Thomas Edison
