I left my session with Kameron + Angela super pumped about their wedding next summer. They are so much fun to be around- I'm sure I talked their ears off! We had a gorgeous October day to shoot all around Lubbock. Here are some of my favorites!

These two got engaged on the field at Jones Stadium (way to go, Kameron!), so we just had to start out there! Can you guess what day they'll be exchanging vows?

These two have scored major points in my book. Let me tell you why-

After rescheduling their shoot once (which isn't easy with their busy schedules), they drove into Lubbock with their 3 dogs. It just so happened that a torrential downpour was planed to hit Lubbock at 4:00, which was exactly the time we decided to start shooting. "No worries," I told them, "storm clouds make for fantastic pictures!" Still, they had great attitudes. We headed out to our location and proceeded to let the dogs run free for a bit. One found the creek and ended up wet, but it was ok! I could tell we had about 15 minutes before we'd all be soaking anyway. Miraculously, we were able to get the dogs, signs, and couple in place for the perfect shot! Travis and Haley had such great can-do attitudes through it all- which is just what I needed to make it happen. Sure enough, right after we got the image we'd been going for, the rain came. And just to add to their awesomeness, they were able to come back to finish the shoot a week or so later. I have the BEST clients.

I met with Taleigh and her Mom early one morning just after I found out I was pregnant. We still were keeping it a secret, but I was already doing my best to drastically decrease my caffeine intake- so no coffee that morning. Let me just say, I am NOT a morning person. I was probably about as exciting as a bump on a log. Somehow, though, Taleigh trusted me and was still able to see my vision and passion for wedding photography, and I was so excited when she decided to book me!
I had already been looking forward to Lance + Taleigh's session, but when Lance mentioned his adoration for Chuck Norris in their Engagement Questionnaire, I knew it would be good, and it was! We had some hot weather and fantastic light. Can't wait for their wedding at the newly remodeled Merket Alumni Center!

I knew I would like Suzanne within one minute of talking with her. She has this instant comfortable-ness. (Is that a word?) She was so easy to talk to and I loved getting to hear about her vision for her wedding day. Joshua is a Lubbock Police Officer, so I'm pretty sure I questioned him the entire time about various things- police officers always have the greatest stories. :)

We had a severe thunderstorm warning in Lubbock the day of their shoot, but these two decided to stick it out with me, and I'm so glad they did! You can't get clouds like this without a little daring and adventure!

What a fun photoshoot! Not only are these two darn good looking (you'll see later), they are great people and were so fun to work with. Matt and Monica made the trip in from Dallas for their engagement shoot last week. (I'm a tad bit late on this post- there were just too many images I loved- sorry Monica!) They'll be getting married at the McKinney Cotton Mill (woo hoo- love that place!) this September.

I wanted to incorporate some of their favorite things into their photoshoot, and since they had told me they love to ride bikes together, I called out to the Twitter community asking if anyone had a bike I could borrow. Truthfully, I expected to get someone's old-ugly-used-to-be-cool bike and do my best to make it look good. And then I got a call that some of my favorite clients had two vintage Schwinn bicycles they could lend. Jackpot! They were perfect. Thank you so much, Jonathan and Mitzi.

Now for some images! Like I said, there were too many to choose from....enjoy!

Yes, this was someone's home...someone who was NOT afraid of color...

Doug and Megan traveled in from their current city of Dallas to do their engagement shoot at their alma mater- Texas Tech! We had such a beautiful day (although I still got a sunburn...never fails!). I enjoyed getting to hear their love story- apparently Megan was working as an intern at the accounting firm where Doug was an associate. Doug was assigned to help with Megan's first audit and was less than friendly! By the time that Megan's internship was over, though, their friendship was blossoming and would soon become a romantic relationship. These two are so happy and comfortable together. Thanks guys for a great session!

Doug + Megan are huge TTU Football fans (they are season ticket holders), and Doug's "Joe's Pizza" shirt has attended every game with them in the past few years!

It was a gorgeous, sunny day in Amarillo, Texas- perfect for an engagement photoshoot! I was excited to meet up with Blake and Lindsey, because after stalking them on Facebook (I confess), I knew they would be a lot of fun. And they were!

I have every couple I shoot fill out an Engagement Questionnaire previous to their photoshoot, so that I know a little bit more about them. I noticed that Lindsey had mentioned Blake owns his own P.I. firm. Being the dork I am, I had no idea what that meant...so I Googled. What I eventually decided was that he was either a Personal Injury Attorney or a Private Investigator- either way, pretty cool! So when I met them I had to ask- it turns out it was the latter. Haha, I'm so glad I had the guts to ask- I'd hate not knowing after my "research".

Here are some of my favorites from the day- these guys are having a destination wedding in just a few weeks, but you'll see them back on the blog in June after I shoot their reception.

I know. I have good looking clients.

They brought the rest of the family for a few pictures! Loved playing with their pups.

Keegan and Blair met on their way to a freshman retreat during their first week of college. Years later, he proposed to her at the same spot where they'd first laid eyes on each other- and she said yes! These two are so much fun to be around and completely perfect for each other. We shot on a very windy day, but I hardly noticed because I was enjoying them! HEre are some of my favorites from their session-

Guess what they rode in to that retreat? A yellow school bus, of course!

We were shooting near First United Methodist Church when a groundskeeper asked us if we'd like to go inside for some pictures. It was a welcome escape from that wind! We found a staircase that had some pretty light streaming in and stayed there awhile...

Abey (short for Abraham) and Rosa came in from Seminole on a windy Saturday morning for their engagement photoshoot. Though we had to be patient with the wind, the sunlight was beautiful that morning! I loved getting to know these two- watching Abey watch Rosa and seeing them laugh together was a treat. They both had such a calm about them that was so relaxing to be around. Congratulations you guys!

Abey + Rosa met while playing a game of softball, so I brought them to a baseball field to shoot a bit. Apparently, Rosa got hit in the head with the ball- talk about a damsel in distress story! (At least she was ok!)
